Mehmet is currently a design engineer at General Electric. He received MS and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering from Koc University in 2011 and 2015, respectively. He was a teaching and research assistant at the same university during his MS and PhD studies. He was a visiting researcher at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany in Summer 2011. He earned his BS degree in mechanical engineering with honors from Selcuk University in 2009. He went to Lublin University of Technology through Erasmus Exchange in Spring 2008.
He was awarded scholarships from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) for his MS and PhD studies. He has published peer reviewed scientific articles in highly competitive journals and conferences. He has served as a reviewer in IEEE Transactions on Haptics (2014-), Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials (2014-) and EuroHaptics Conference (2012-). He was a board member of European Union and Erasmus Society and an exchange student mentor at Selcuk University (2008-2009).
